Trends come and go all the time. There are so many things that catch our attention and that we become attracted to, but our relationship with Christ should outlast any flashy trend. Christ’s love for us is going to outlast any trend that you will ever see, but are you willing to be committed to him no matter what is going on around you?
LUKE 9:23Then He said to the crowd, “if any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
What are the biggest differences between something you’re committed to and something that is a trend in your life?
Many trends have to do with getting you very excited for a short amount of time. Maybe it is something cool everyone is doing or something you want to try once, but trends have a very short window, but commitments do not. Commitments last even when you are no longer excited. Commitment goes above a feeling, and a commitment to Christ is all about relationship.
